Marmi Vrech for the new Ulysses

The new explorer superyacht U116 Ulysses has been completed in June 2018 after nearly a four year construction process. The vessel has been outfitted by Dörries Maritime after it was built at Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway.

The Ulysses is 116 meters long, almost 10 meters longer than her sister ship, the 107 meter U107 (formerly Ulysses now renamed in Andromeda, see the case history here).

Marmi Vrech is proud to have been involved in the realization of both the vessels.

For the new Ulysses we have supplied and installed more than 16.000 sqm of marbles (Count of Florence marble, Bianco Neve marble and Namibian Rose marble) for the floors, the wall coverings and the furniture for several areas including main deck gym & spa, main deck dining area, pool deck exterior, boat deck, owner deck, bridge deck, en-suite rooms, day head, all the lifts, stairs and corridors.

Making the natural stone artifact for this super yacht required very special skills from us because of the extremely high quality that such a project demanded even in the smallest details.

Exactly how we did for the U107, also for the new Ulysses we offered high-performance technical solutions as honeycomb panels covered with flat-weave fiberglass impregnated resins. These structural elements, in addition to a high mechanical strength, can considerably lighten the natural stone coating, so they are the perfect solution for yachts and superyachts.
